Q: What is your favorite quote?
“Be the change you want to see in the world.” You should inspire people by implementing the changes you want. If you want your team to come into meetings on time, you should come to the meeting slightly early. It’s about leading by example and not demanding things from people that you aren’t willing to do yourself.
Q: Is there anything in your past that helps you in your current job?
I know Product and People management. I think it comes from past job experience where I’ve managed a lot of people but also from having a lot of younger brothers to manage! I was able to assemble an engineering team in record time.
Q: Describe the values that drive you.
Changing the world motivates me. OnPlan is really changing the world. It’s very human in its approach, and the people who work here are eager to help. It’s a great place to work.
Q: What is your favorite book or podcast?
The Psychology of Money. I come from a really humble background but had a lot of success in my 20s. It changed me as a person. Someone advised me to read that book, and it really changed my thinking. My favorite line from the book is “Saving is the gap between your ego and your income.”
Q: How would you convince a customer to use OnPlan?
It’s cost-effective, easy to implement, and the most state-of-the-art technology on the market. And we’re still evolving every single day!
Q: Aside from the founder, you are the longest-tenured OnPlan employee. What excites you about OnPlan today versus when you first started?
Q: What features are you most excited about?
The mapping feature that keeps your analytical data up to date with other enterprise systems like your GL. It’s a real paradigm shift for the user. You can have millions of records sitting in your database, unused, and then you can visualize them on the OnPlan grid in a few seconds and do your BVA scenario forecasting. It’s built on top of Google Sheets, so it’s really fast. It’s almost like a Google Sheet experience.
Q: What excites you about the future?
I can see us becoming the world leader in five or ten years, giving our competitors a real run for their money. Their clients are already starting to approach us, so I can see us leading the world in FP&A soon.
